An Innovative Approach to Health Care

Wouldn’t it be great to have 24/7 access to your physician for both urgent and non-urgent issues? Same or next day appointment availability? Unhurried office visits? A physician that addresses all of your concerns and strives to be your health care advocate? Dr. Afreen Pappa, a board certified Family Physician, medical director and owner of JAVANI Med Spa, and a Lifestyle Advisor to the Houston Business Show is implementing a patient driven retainer medicine model to give patients the medical attention they desire and deserve. The Patient First Medical and Wellness Program™ seeks to meet all these patient needs for an annual retainer fee. It will be available in the Fort Bend area in January 2009.

In the world of third party payers, gatekeepers and declining reimbursements, the traditional Marcus Welby type physician-patient relationship most physicians aspired for as medical students has become part of our medical and social history.

Most patients spend at least 30 minutes to one hour in a waiting room and then in the exam room before being seen by their physician.  The average medical visit now lasts 10 minutes or less.  A phone call to the physician office for a medication refill or non-urgent question can take two to three days before being returned.  In some practices, it can take days before an appointment is available. Many retail health clinics are popping up to fill the void of accessible health care for when consumers are acutely ill.

Seeking Quality Vendors

We are seeking vendors whom we can vouch for and suggest to our radio, website, and newspaper audience.  They need to be members of organizations (e.g., local chambers, Better Business Bureau, Greater Houston Builders Association, etc.) we are familiar with.

The following is only a list of some of the areas we are immediately looking for:

Roofers

Remodelers

Plumbers

Landscapers

Construction

Public Insurance Adjusters

And more!

If you work in these areas, we want to hear from you or if you can suggest other areas, contact us at info@HoustonBusinessShow.com or call 832-643-2953 and ask for Stacy.

HoustonBusinessDaily.com has put together a list of leading authorities that can you get your home, business, and life back to normal.

Darrell Anderson, Anderson Restoration, LLC

Anderson Restoration has over two decades of experience in restoring homes and, therefore, lives.  With his unique background, that includes an adjusters license, it is obvious why he is the industry leader.

AIMS Tree Service

With trees still falling on homes following Hurricane Ike, people are looking for quality tree service.  Consumers need to ask vendors: are you insured? Bonded? Do you provide free estimates?  If the answer is “no” to any of these questions, you should contact the people at AIMS.

Mike Alexander, ABM Insurance

Two thing we have consistently learned from Mike Alexander is that flood insurance is extremely affordable, yet many people who need it, simply don’t have it.  In many cases, people would only pay about $100 a year for such coverage, which is much cheaper than the tax on one’s peace of mind.

Chris Ferris of the Fellowship Group Roofing

The Price of Business radio show and HoustonBusinessDaily.com is proud to have Chris Ferris and the Fellowship Group as part of our Hurricane Ike recovery team.  Ferris has been in the roofing industry for years and he has offices in Oklahoma City, Orlando, and in Houston.

Kent Batman, Hardin Fuels

Hardin Fuels is helping businesses keep their vehicles on the road following a crisis such as Hurricane Ike.  Hardin Fuels provides biodiesel fuel for businesses demand 1,000 gallons or more per shipment and does so at market price and at a huge savings of time as employees try to find the best pricing.
